WELCOME TO OUR PIPE BAND

An Insight

The City of Auckland Pipe Band is a young talented band of passionate pipers and drummers from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds. We have been operating since 1942, and have a long history of performances throughout NZ and internationally. The band is ranked Grade 3 under the Royal New Zealand Pipe Band Association.

Highlights of the Band's recent travels include performing in the 2016 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Wellington, New Zealand and attending as international guest artists at the 2016 Festival Interceltique de Lorient in Brittany, France.

We can offer a variety of performance options for private and public events, with options ranging from solo pipers for Weddings, Funerals, Birthday and Graduations, through to full band turnouts for Corporate events and street parades.

ABOUT THE BAND

We are Grade 3 competition band, with a strong focus on entertainment and supporting the Auckland community. We play at many Auckland venues and events, and have a strong and active training programme for young learners. Contact us if you're keen to learn bagpipes or drums!

PRACTICE NIGHTS

Visitors are always welcome - Contact us for directions to the practice rooms. We practice at 7:00pm each Thursday evening (except for the Christmas period) at Mt Albert Grammar School.

BOOK THE BAND

The band has played at many high-profile corporate, social events and concerts over the years. We can put together a program or items to suit most requirements, and are experienced in working with other musical groups and dancers. Solo pipers are also available.

Fees depend on type of the event, and the number of players required. All fees go to the band, which is a non-profit incorporated society registered with the Charities Commission. Please contact us if you would like to discuss your event.
